Message from the President:

Welcome to the USC Women’s Rugby Club website. We hope the site keeps fans and alumni players up to date with all of our team’s progress this season!

Our team has seen tremendous growth and success from our establishment on campus two years ago, we are now a fully international team of players with girls of a wide range of experience. Last year was our first year in the Rugby Union, we finished strong last season with our girls giving full dedication of blood and sweat on the field. With hard work and love for the game, we were invited to Nationals in Florida, again Nationals is the teams’ goal this year. The year holds a lot of promise for the team, having just finished our first year of being in the league we have made a name for ourselves. It is mine, and the coaches hope that we continue to dominate on the field and keep the enthusiasm for Women’s Rugby high at USC.

At the heart of the game rugby is the epitome of social sport - from the socials after the games to the camaraderie of teammates on and off the field. Rugby bonding goes beyond friendship to a unique level of understanding created on the field that creates a family off the field. The unity between all players is what keeps our team so strong and something we all pride our team for. We welcome all levels of experience to try out.

Our success is based on the people who have supported and believed in the team. Our tremendous coaches and fans, it is you who help keep our team going and define our team, thank you all so much and I look forward to seeing you out on the field.

Fight On!

Message from the Captain:

Welcome back old players!

Summer is almost over and it is time to start thinking rugby. From late night practices to weekly fitness sessions, we will sacrifice our bodies to the rugby gods and build on everything we learned last season. Blood, sweat, tears, we've seen it all. Yet, after all of our unfortunate injuries and tough losses, our love for the game has not changed one bit. Our team is like family, and the bond we have will only get stronger as the new season takes off. I hope you guys are as pumped as I am! I'm expecting many games for us preseason, and I'm sure if we work hard, we will be able to dominate. There is absolutely no time to waste. So find your mouth-guards and find your cleats. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you on the field soon!

To potential new players,

Welcome to USC Women's Club rugby. From what the team saw last season, many rookies (who had no idea what rugby was, previous to the first practice) were able to shine on the field in a matter of weeks; there is no doubt that all of you can too. USC Rugby offers great camaraderie both on the field during practice and games, and off the field during social events. It is a perfect way to learn a new sport, and stay fit as well. We present a host of great rivalries, including an annual match against UCLA! With that, we hope you join us for our first practice, September 1st 2010, to experience two hours of amazing rugby.

Fight On!
